Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
The same word for “have dominion over” is to “reign over” or “rule over” and the same word (Strong’s 7287) is used in Leviticus 25:43. Let’s see the context:
Leviticus 25:42 Because the Israelites are My servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they are not to be sold as slaves. 43 You are not to RULE OVER them harshly, but you shall fear your God.
In YHWH’s eyes ruling over others is not to be “harsh” or else you don’t fear your God. We were given stewardship over His creation, but we aren’t their owners. YHWH is their “owner” and when we treat His creation in a harsh manner, we are not fearing their owner.
He also hates slavery as He’s always freeing the innocent people (who have repented). When we buy or sell innocent animals as slaves, or treat them harshly, this is obviously NOT what YHWH meant by having “dominion” over others.
In order to eat animal flesh, we must sacrifice their lives for our bodies (the temple of YHWH). The Essenes taught that YHWH never commanded us to sacrifice animals, and that’s what eating animals is. The early followers believed Jesus (Yehoshua) came to do away with the sacrifices, and the reason why the sacrifices to YHWH had stopped (even though Heaven and Earth are still here) is because the sacrifices were never really a part of the law to begin with. YHWH called the vegan diet of Genesis “very good” and the Millennium or Messianic Age will be without animal deaths also.
